ACCIONA Infrastructure CEO, Luis Castilla, participated today in the “10th Infrastructure Sector Meeting: Opportunities and challenges in the global infrastructure market”, organised by the consultancy firm Deloitte and the Spanish newspaper ABC.
The meeting was opened by Public Works Minister Íñigo de la Serna, and featured representatives from Spain’s leading infrastructure companies who addressed the current situation and the future of the sector.
The recovery of construction activity in Spain and the domestic contracting model, the different strategies used by Spanish construction companies in accessing international markets, and the new financing formulas for major infrastructure projects were some of the topics discussed.
During the meeting, Luis Castilla highlighted the importance of the private sector on the new global stage in developing new infrastructures, considering the limited investment capacity of the public sector.
In this context, he mentioned the need to redefine the profitability-to-risk model in the sector to enable financial investors to participate in major infrastructure projects.
