ACCIONA Construction today signed the contract to construct a new waste water treatment plant in the municipality of Zújar, in the province of Granada. The contract is worth approximately €3.4 million (including VAT) and includes construction of two pumping stations to improve sanitation in the town, which is home to around 2,600 people.
The new plant will have one line for treating waste water and another for treating conventional sludges, as well as three buildings for pre-treatment and dehydration; disinfection; and control processes.
The Zújar treatment plant to be constructed by ACCIONA Construction is one of 12 such plants for treating urban waste water awarded by the Regional Government of Andalusia to improve the infrastructure for waste water and urban discharges in Andalusia.
The President of the Regional Government, Susana Díaz, today attended the signing of the contracts for these 12 plants, which will be located in the provinces of Córdoba, Granada, Jaén, Seville and Huelva. They will benefit more than 65,000 inhabitants and create more than 1,000 jobs.
